The following screens (approximately 12) show Second Life storyboards. These storyboards show how Second Life may be used as an interface to a number of training modules for UNC TA training. Each storyboard describes how learning theory has been applied to the design.


How Multimedia Theory is Applied to the Design
Chapter 3 Multimedia Principle is applied to this image. Words and pictures are used together to clarify meaning. Arrow (sign) and words on the sign work together to communicate physical direction, environmental setting, and orientation to the novice learning. This design prevents redundancy therefor minimizes extraneous cognitive load The personalization principle is used because the sign acts as a pedagogical agent by guiding the actions of the learner.
